You get one good shot at this.

Amazon rarely tells you why an appeal failed. This checks what you have written against its published requirements and names what would sink it — before you send it, not after.

Performance notification · Amazon Seller Performance

Your Amazon seller account has been deactivated in accordance with section 3 of the Amazon Services Business Solutions Agreement.

Funds will not be transferred to you but will stay in your account while we work with you to address this issue.

Why is this happening? We received complaints about the authenticity of the items you listed.

Most appeals fail on the paperwork, not the facts.

Sellers with entirely genuine products get denied every day. Not because Amazon caught them doing anything wrong, but because the evidence they attached did not meet a requirement nobody told them about.

These are the four that come up most, and every one of them is checkable in advance.

Invoices that do not cover the sales

Your invoiced quantity has to cover 365 days of sales for each ASIN Amazon named. Sell 400 units, document 250, and it is rejected regardless of how legitimate your supplier is.

A supplier who does not pick up

Amazon calls to verify. A supplier they cannot reach, or cannot find online, is recorded as unverified — which reads the same as a forged document.

Corrective actions with no dates

Anything you have not already done is a promise, and promises carry no weight in that section. Undated actions get skipped.

Arguing a charge Amazon never made

In Amazon's framework, “inauthentic” means it cannot verify your supply chain — not that it believes your product is fake. Sellers who respond by insisting their goods are genuine lose on a point that was never in dispute.

What this does instead.

It works the way a quality system works: inspect the inputs, find the defects, fix them, then produce the document. Not the other way round.

  1. Tell it what Amazon cited

Twelve violation types, each with different requirements. An authenticity complaint and a late shipment rate deactivation need opposite appeals, and the form changes accordingly.

  2. Get the findings, free

Blockers and weak points, each naming the specific input and what to change. Including the arithmetic — enter your units sold and units invoiced and it tells you how many you are short.

  3. Fix, then re-run

Gather what is missing and check again. A delay costs you days. A denial costs you far more, and makes the next attempt harder.

  4. Build the package when it is clean

Cover letter and Plan of Action on your letterhead, an appendix mapping every section to the Amazon policy it answers, the plain-text version for the appeal field, and the filing steps.

The check

Answer honestly, including the parts that do not flatter you. An appeal built on a story Amazon can disprove is worse than no appeal.

1What Amazon cited

What this actually means

Amazon cannot verify that your supply chain for the cited ASIN is legitimate. It is not asserting your product is counterfeit.

Never argue the products are genuine. Every sentence should make the supply chain verifiable. Sellers who protest innocence lose on a point Amazon was never making.

2Specific to this violation

These change with the violation type, because the evidence Amazon wants changes with it.

3What happened

Your own words, including the unflattering parts.
